Rules

Play follows **WFDF Rules of Ultimate** ## 1. Game Structure ### 1.1 Game Length Games are 50 minutes long. ### 1.2 Point Cap The point cap is 13 points. ### 1.3 Hard Cap 1. If the cap time is reached during a point, play continues until that point ends. The team that is ahead when the point ends wins the game. 2. If the cap time is reached between points, the game ends immediately and the team that is ahead wins. ### 1.4 Tied Games Ties are allowed. Each team receives one standings point for a tied game. ### 1.5 Half-Time Half-time is called at the earlier of: 1. The 25-minute mark; or 2. When a team reaches 7 points. After half-time is called: 1. Start the next point with the teams in the opposite end zones from where they started the game. 2. The team that started the game on offense starts the next point on defense. 3. There is no break time. 4. A hard cap applies at half-time. ### 1.6 Timeouts 1. Each team has one timeout per game. 2. The timeout is one minute long. 3. A timeout cannot be called during the final five minutes of the game. ### 1.7 Disc Flips The disc flips must take place at least five minutes before the scheduled game start. #### 1.7.1 First Disc Flip 1. The winner chooses either: 1. The starting end zone; or 2. Whether their team starts on offense or defense. 2. The loser chooses the remaining option. #### 1.7.2 Second Disc Flip 1. If playing a 5:2 ratio, the winner decides whether the first pull will be made by a male or female player. 2. If the teams have agreed to use the 4:3/5:2 ratio format, the winner selects the ratio for the first point. The ratios and pulls then follow the ABBA order. ## 2. Tournament Format and Team Composition ### 2.1 Tournament Format The tournament uses a double round-robin format. ### 2.2 Players on the Field 1. Maximum: 7 players per team. 2. Minimum: 5 players per team. ### 2.3 Team Roster Size No team roster-size requirement is specified. ### 2.4 Gender Ratio The default on-field gender ratio is 5 male players to 2 female players, unless the teams agree to use the 4:3/5:2 ratio format. When alternating ratios, follow the ABBA order, where **A** is the ratio used for the first pull. If a team does not have enough women, it may field only the maximum permitted number of men and must play with fewer total players. For example, if a team has only one woman available, it may field five men and one woman, resulting in a 6-versus-7 game. ### 2.5 Gender Pull Order The gender of the pulling player follows the ABBA order, where **A** is the gender selected for the first pull. ### 2.6 Standings Points Teams earn standings points based on the game result: 1. Win: 3 points. 2. Tie: 1 point. 3. Loss: 0 points. ### 2.7 Ranking and Tie-Breaking Criteria If teams are tied in the standings, apply the following criteria in order: 1. Number of games won, counting only games between the tied teams. 2. Fewest games forfeited. 3. Goal difference, counting only games between the tied teams. 4. Goal difference, counting games against all common opponents. 5. Goals scored per game, counting only games between the tied teams. 6. Goals scored per game, counting games against all common opponents. 7. Each tied team nominates one player to throw one disc from behind the goal line toward the far brick mark on a regulation playing field. The throwing order is determined randomly, by disc toss or another random method. Teams are ranked by the distance from each disc's resting place to the brick mark, from closest to farthest. ## 3. Spirit of the Game and Awards ### 3.1 Spirit of the Game After each game, teams must complete the form provided to their captains and rate the opposing team's spirit on a scale from 0 to 4. ### 3.2 Tournament MVP Voting At the end of the tournament, each team will receive a form to vote for: 1. The top three male players; and 2. The top three female players. Votes must be based on performance across all games. Teams may vote only for players from other teams.
